    Hiking

South Head at 494m stands at the western edge of the High Peak moors. The Pennine Way bridleway runs around its base just to the north but doesn't actually reach the summit. It's worth climbing for the views northeast up to Kinder and west across the more urban valley towards New Mills and Stockport.

    Hiking

From here its just a short trek up to the top of South Head hill, this is also the where the alternate path starts that leads back to the top of Jacobs Ladder giving you the option to cut the walk short if needed, Also there are great views across to Kinder Low End as seen in the pics.
