For more than 250 animals the zoo in Recklinghausen is a home. On one hectare, about the size of a soccer field, there are 20 enclosures in the city's zoo, where rhesus monkeys, steppe foxes and guinea pigs live. For more than 25 species of birds, such as sooty heads, textile weavers, diamond pigeons, blue-fronted amazons, black-headed parrots or even the three-color Glanzstar, the aviary and the aviaries are at home. Many animals come close to the visitors: the large bird hall is walkable, visitors can watch the birds in flight. Peacocks and chickens roam freely throughout the zoo.
    Prices:
Admission to the zoo is free. With a voluntary donation, you can still do something good and support the zoo.
    Opening hours:
The zoo is open in summer, from April to September, from Monday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm. The bird hall is then open from 9 to 17:15. In winter, in the period from October to March, the zoo is open from 9 to 16.30 clock, the bird hall from 9 to 16 clock.

The zoo is a beautiful facility for the entire family. In addition to a bird house and a nice little playground, there are also interestingly designed information areas about bees.
The zoo is free and open daily from 9:00 a.m., in summer until 6:00 p.m., in winter until 4:30 p.m. Dogs are not allowed.
