The highest road in Argentina (part of the Ruta Nacional 40, a gravel road) leads at almost 5,000 m above the Abra del Acay pass. The section marked as highlight leads from a serpentine loop about 9 km below the pass through beautiful mountain landscapes down into the valley of the Río Calchaquí.
