The Hydro Bothy was once a cement store for the pipeline work for Orrin Reservoir, and now provides an often much-needed shelter from the Scottish elements, particularly in these remote parts. Don't expect anything glamorous here, but you'll probably be pleased to be dry!January 7, 2020
RIP Hydro Bothy.The Hydro Bothy was probably the shittiest bothy in Scotland. Don't know if that is why it got demolished. It however still had a great function for those seeking shelter. Too bad it's now gone.It was just a concrete building, no stove, no bunks, nothing but a few plastic chairs and the one table on a concrete floor. Also a lot of rubble that people left behind in this bothy... could also be a reason for the owner to take it down?
