The Tyne Bridge is a defining symbol of Newcastle and an iconic landmark on the city landscape. The bridge was designed by the engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson, who later designed the Forth Road Bridge, and was officially opened on October 10, 1928, by King George V.

One of the many iconic bridges of the Tyne in the centre of Newcastle. Tyne Bridge was opened in 1928 by King George V. The iconic arch has become one of the symbols of the city.
