Creek of Pfaffenberger Siefen with the mouth of the former mine "Goldener Trough". The penultimate owners, the Mannesmann tube works in Betzdorf / Sieg, allowed on 16 May 1922 the municipality Wiehl, the withdrawal of drinking water to supply the population Wiehler. In 1949 the community became a member of the Aggerverbandes. Both agreed to remove water from the tunnels as long as economically feasible. In 1960/61, the quality of the water had deteriorated as a result of the input of wastewater, so that the drinking water supply had to be abandoned from here. Source: Wiehl.de
