The Kaiser Wilhelm monument at the Porta Westfalica is a monument to Kaiser Wilhelm, which stands above the Weser breakthrough valley Porta Westfalica, the "gate to Westphalia", in the area of the city Porta Westfalica in the North Rhine-Westphalian circle Minden-Lübbecke , It was built by the then Prussian province of Westphalia from 1892 to 1896 and was created against the background of national ideas in the German Empire. The altogether 88 m high monument joins the series of German national monuments.Bruno Schmitz was the architect of the landscape-defining monument, and the sculptor Caspar von Zumbusch designed the imperial statue. Since 2008, the monument belongs to the Street of Monuments. Due to its outstanding geographical position, it is the most important landmark of the city of Porta Westfalica and the northern Ostwestfalen.
