The cemetery of Villandro is considered one of the most beautiful in South Tyrol due to its uniformity in terms of grave size and the artistic grave crosses made of wrought iron. A peculiarity is that the crosses are not behind, but in front of the deathbed. The deceased lie in such a way that they can face east and thus face the sunrise.
