Unfortunately, the St. Joseph Chapel had to be demolished in 1884 due to its dilapidated condition. With the help of donations and a house collection in all Catholic parishes in Middle Franconia, the new church was built from 1887 and consecrated in 1888. The relics were received as donations in kind from parishes in the surrounding area.
