The Wöllstein water tower, which is now a listed building, was built in 1906 in a historicist style from rubble stones and served as the Wöllstein waterworks until it was shut down in 1977. The water tank, which is unused today, is located on the slightly higher south side of the tower under an artificial mound and can be reached from inside the tower through a metal door. A water pipe used to lead from here to a sandstone basin set into the outer wall of the north porch, from where drinking water could be taken. The gargoyle on the back wall of the pool no longer exists today. The function of the water tower as an observation tower has been preserved to this day, the key to the tower can be borrowed from the municipal council.
