The Pitzenbach is the main tributary to Heiterwanger See from the east. On the way over the Zwirche - the alluvial cone of the Pitzenbach, which separates the Heiterwanger lake from the Plansee - the brook is passable through a ford. At low tide, this is relatively easy, since the water of the brook at the lowest point is only about ten centimeters deep. Nevertheless, caution is advised, as gravel and boulders in the stream bed get slightly moving when passing through.
