Sculpture since 1992 on the Ziegenberg (652m) in memory of a sad legend from the 17th century in the Zwönitz areaThe daughter of a miller from Zwönitz was fond of the Grünhainer forester. Both agreed to meet for a dance. To her delight, she met her brother there with his wife. In the joy of seeing each other again, the siblings joked with each other. When the lover arrived late, he was enraged to see his bride in someone else's arms. He lured the girl to the goat hill, accused her of infidelity and took her life. In her last words, she affirmed that it was her brother she was dancing with.Horrified, he regretted what he had done. Pale as death, with bloodied hands, he rode back to the tavern. Desperate, he reports what has happened and submits to the court. The ax of the executioner at Grünhain fell.A rosebush, whose snow-white blossoms turned as if sprinkled with blood at night, covers the ground where the beloved met her death. At midnight a steed was seen, the rider carrying his head under his arm. He lingers on the rose tree and soon disappears...erzgebirge-tourismus.de
