Green route to Pont-du-Gard

It connects the two sights Chateau de Tarascon near Beaucaire and the Pont-du-Gard in Remoulins

This abandoned and converted to the bike path is only recommended.

The Voie Verte is located on the old railway line Alès via Nimes to Beaucaire.
From the middle of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, Alès was the center of coal mining in the Gard, which began to flourish after the construction of this railway line. It was not until 1958 that coal production fell significantly again. In 1995 the last mining site was closed. (Source: Wikipedia)
On the old railway line, a wonderful bike path has now been created between Beaucaire and Pont du Gard. The good infrastructure, which has few crossings, fast asphalt and rest areas, allows cyclists to drive quickly from Beaucaire to the Roman aqueduct in Pont Du Gard. Unfortunately the route is very shadowless.
