The rich and diverse religious architecture of Podkarpacie is the result of the coexistence of many religions over the centuries: Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Orthodox and Judaism. The best example of this is the village of Komańcza, located on the border of the Bieszczady Mountains and the Low Beskid Mountains. There are three active churches there: a wooden Orthodox church from 1802, a Greek Catholic church and a Roman Catholic church built in the mid-20th century.
