The heart of Steingadens is the former monastery church with its mighty, whitewashed towers.
Historians call the Welfenmünster an "open book of art history". The most important epochs have been immortalized in a harmonious way, from Romanesque to Modern. The magnificent ceiling paintings in the nave were created in the Baroque period, the many putti announce the lightness of the Rococo. A special highlight is the Gothic cloister.
