The Wartbaum, a linden tree on the Hohe Straße between Windecken and Bruchköbel-Roßdorf, was documented there as early as the 16th century. The place served as a place of execution and also as a burial place for criminals.Today's artistic design as part of the Hohe Straße regional park route of the Rhine-Main regional park alludes to various historical events, for example the so-called "Kaiser maneuvers" in 1897, during which the emperor and aristocracy observed the troop movements from the lookout.

Friedenslinde, planted in 1958 for the returned prisoners of war of the 2nd World war

This place gets its name from the huge summer linden tree, which was planted around 1600 and is still there today. But it's not just the Wartbaum that makes this place so beautiful, but also the wonderful view from the height.
There are also countless steles on the waiting tree that represent soldiers and are intended to commemorate the imperial maneuvers of 1897 that took place in the area.
