The chops path was probably created by the tradition of old times, as people from Darmstadt on Sunday went on foot to neighboring Rossdorf to enjoy the allegedly best chops in the region. The hungry townspeople moved so many to Roßdorf that gradually a trail was created, which is known today as Kotelettpfad and well signposted. The Unesco Geopark also honors the traditional route as a local specialty!
With the MTB he is also very passable and requires a bit of driving skills and condition. The most beautiful is when it is nice and wet. ;-)

Yay, the pork chop path! Very suitable for beginners. Nothing wild and very flat, a few spices - and still a little trail feeling ☺

Very nice and easy trail. Ideally suited for beginners. However, there is a lot of hiking traffic here at the weekend.

Drive it again and again when I drive in the direction of Kranichstein, it's just fun to drive it.

My favorite trail in the region. Easily accessible, close to nature, beautiful, flowing, a few more technical sections. Just perfect.

In 1993, the direct marketing campaign "Fresh and tasty in the district of connoisseurs" revived this tradition and has organized a hike along the legendary chop path from Darmstadt to Roßdorf every two years. The hike finds its culinary highlight when eating chops in the “Zur Sonne” inn in Roßdorf. The Kotelettpfad leads about 8 km through the Darmstadt city forest, the forest of the state of Hesse and the municipal forest of RoßdorfThe chop path begins at the Botanical Garden or at Breslauer Platz (district road K141). (♁49°52′3″N, 8°40′44.3″E) The route is marked with a yellow symbol (letter V in a circle) throughout.
There is also another starting point at the parking lot in front of the Zoo Vivarium. (♁49° 51′ 54.1″ N, 8° 41′ 1.1″ E) There are also two information boards on the subject here.
The chop trail ends at the “Zur Sonne” inn in Roßdorf. (♁49°51′27.3″N, 8°45′23.8″E)
Sights along the way:
"Kahlert Fountain" (♁49° 51′ 34.5″ N, 8° 42′ 35.2″ E)
"Thieves' Well" (♁49°51′6.8″N, 8°43′38.8″E)
