The chops path was probably created by the tradition of old times, as people from Darmstadt on Sunday went on foot to neighboring Rossdorf to enjoy the allegedly best chops in the region.The hungry townspeople moved so many to Roßdorf that gradually a trail was created, which is known today as Kotelettpfad and well signposted. The Unesco Geopark also honors the traditional route as a local specialty!
With the MTB he is also very passable and requires a bit of driving skills and condition. The most beautiful is when it is nice and wet. ;-)

In 1993, the direct marketing campaign "Fresh and tasty in the district of connoisseurs" revived this tradition and has organized a hike along the legendary chop path from Darmstadt to Roßdorf every two years. The hike finds its culinary highlight when eating chops in the “Zur Sonne” inn in Roßdorf.The Kotelettpfad leads about 8 km through the Darmstadt city forest, the forest of the state of Hesse and the municipal forest of RoßdorfThe chop path begins at the Botanical Garden or at Breslauer Platz (district road K141).
