The beautiful wooden footbridge is on the Montabaurer Mären hiking trail and two Heilberscheid Nordic walking routes. Unfortunately, the access path is not maintained at all. In summer, the footbridge is only passable in long, sturdy clothing due to nettles, thistles and blackberry vines! The meadow behind it is in a wetland, so after a rainy day, you're sure to get wet feet here!

The open-cast mine "Tongrube Mehl" offers a great view of the white gold of the Westerwald from the hiking trails: Under red layers of clay there are deposits of the coveted white clay for the famous Westerwald porcelain stoneware!
