Winter Hill Summit and TV Mast

The Pigeon Tower (AKA The Dovecote Tower) was built in 1910 by Lord Leverhulme as part of the Rivington Estate. The lower two floors where home to ornamental and rare

This great climb is used in the Chorley Grand Prix road race held in April. From the reservoir at Rivington it starts with a steep section to the cattle grid.

William Lever built a folly which is a scale replica of Liverpool Castle. Building started in 1912 and the replica, which was not completed, was based on a conjectural reconstruction of the castle prepared by E. W. Cox in 1892.
