Astadvatnet — hike-a-bike ascent

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Don't go here! This is not a route to bike!! Unless you want to push your bike up a rocky path of 30° elevation, just to end up in a swap.
Nothing worth about this

This is a hike a bike section up to Astadvatnet Lake, very steep ascent/descent but worth it for the views. Expect to get wet feet, very boggy and the path was a running stream at points due to snow melt (June 2022). Although it looks like a shortcut across the valley, its probably quicker to cycle round the peninsula but maybe not as rewarding.

On the shore of the mountain lake is a mountain hut built of stone, which transforms itself inside as a charming village. There is the possibility to sleep there as a couple, cards are ready to play and a stove and a lot of tools are ready, so you can survive there even in winter. There is also a logbook to perpetuate and a photo album there, which shows pictures of hiking tours of some Norwegians to the hut!
