January 3, 2025, Catrigg Force Waterfall
Just off this walk through the gate, we didn't choose today to go down to see the waterfall. Just be aware that you need to re-trace your steps to get back in the track (THERE IS NO EXIT AT THE BOTTOM)

Watlowes is the dry valley leading North from Malham Cove to Malham Tarn. It showcases the areas well known natural limestone and offers spectacular views.

Stunning and IMO an even better view than Malham Cove. Make sure you incorporate this into your hike. This is one of my favourite views and circular hikes.

December 13, 2023, Catrigg Force Waterfall
Because it's relatively accessible, this is a great adventure for kids. The descent down into the gorge is studded with limestone blocks and gnarled trees, hiding the view of the foss til the last minute, leading to a real sense of anticipation

December 1, 2023, Watlowes Dry Valley
Watlowes Dry Valley is a deep limestone canyon, and an incredibly striking and dramatic place. In all likelihood, it was carved out by the glacial overspill from Malham Tarn going to what was once the highest waterfall in England (before England actually existed!).

October 31, 2023, Woodland Path to Janet’s Foss
Beautiful path following the beck through a wooded limestone gorge. At its absolute best in Spring when the wild garlic aromas are strong and the green colours are vivid

You have to pull off the main path and then descend until you arrive at the top of the waterfall. You can view the waterfall here but you can also descend a path into a copse where there some steps to the bottom of the waterfall.

June 6, 2023, Woodland Path to Janet’s Foss
This magical woodland path leads to Janet’s Foss. The waterfall is named after the Queen of the Fairies, as it is rumoured that she lived behind the falls. The woods have a glorious smell of garlic in the spring when the ramsons come into flower.

May 12, 2023, Gordale Scar Waterfall
If you are feeling brave and you are good at climbing, you can go up the waterfall and follow a path upto the top of Gordale Scar, but it's not easy and the flow of the water can change daily depending on weather and rain etc so this can increase the difficulty and danger, and plus like myself you might get wet feet lol.

February 21, 2023, Gordale Scar Waterfall
Gordale Scar is a stunning natural wonder which is not that hard to navigate even if you're not familiar with the area. To make your experience more enjoyable, make sure to plan your route and be prepared for the steep climb up to the top of the waterfall. Be sure to pack appropriate gear for the weather conditions, as the gorge can be slippery and wet. Wearing sturdy shoes with good grip, and bringing waterproof clothing can help ensure you have a comfortable and safe experience.

Hiking up the waterfall area is dangerous at many times of the year...

The trail up (or down) the dry valleys between Malham Tarn and Malham Cove make great, exciting walking.
