At the entrance it says “relatively easy”. That is definitely not the case. Absolute surefootedness and hiking boots are required. There is a section of about 800m that requires a head for heights. Be careful: kommot underestimates the length by far. I had planned the tour as a circular tour (down to the monastery and back along a mountain path east of the gorge). Kommot said it would take just under 4 hours and 8.5km. It's actually 13km and after 3.5 hours you've just arrived at the monastery. That said: a demanding but impressive hike!

We chose the path through the village. The path is not marked. Out of the gorge shortly after a pull gate left up the mountain, then directly through the middle of the village.
