The Lac de Serre-Poncon is a reservoir and there are hardly any paths right on the shore that would allow a circumnavigation without altitude. Therefore you have to overcome some passes, including this one.

From here to the junction with the Laragne road, you enter the grandiose site of the Gorges de la Méouge. To see at least once, absolutely.

Magnificent small mountain lake populated by beautiful species of fish. swimming is allowed. Presence of bench and many corners of shade. Superb for a good time with family. There is a bar for dining.

From this balcony route you have beautiful views over the rapids of the Durance.

Sensational. You have to have driven. Direction Sisteron almost only with a gradient.

Before you reach Lake Lauzon, you have a view of these beautiful waterfalls. Definitely worth a photo stop.

No longer an insider tip, but still very worth seeing. Bathing in pools under the medieval bridge or sunbathing on a rock has something to offer.
As for all such places, if you like it crowded, come on the weekend.
