A superb refuge located in the heart of the mountain pastures very close to the village of La Grave. Run by a charming family, this refuge is the ideal place to spend the night in a friendly atmosphere!

You are now in the only inhabited village in the French part of the Vallée Étroite. There are two shelters, public fountains, a bar-restaurant and a small chapel. An absolutely lovely place!

As you ascend it's hard to take in the full scenery, but the views on the way down are absolutely breathtaking. Forget the Strava Kom (it's already taken by the pros anyway) and pause for a photo!

You definitely won't get such a view everywhere. And best of all: when you drive uphill here, you are so slow that you can enjoy it in peace. :)

Nice opportunity to take a break after the first steep bends of the Galibier and experience the breathtaking mountains. In the Alpe you can buy homemade cheese and one or the other drink at affordable prices.
