When it’s time to hit the trails, the idyllic valleys, panoramic mountain ridges and varied passes of the Gstaad region offer mountain bikers countless opportunities to discover the tranquil nature of the Bernese Oberland. Whether you’re on an E-bike or pedal-powered, a beginner or an experienced cross-country or enduro biker, with over 300 kilometres (185 mi) of trails on offer, there's something for everyone.

In this Collection, we present a diverse selection of routes around Gstaad. From an easy ride to beautiful Lake Lauenen, or a scenic tour along the Gastlosen chain, to the full-day adventure across the language border, there’s something for everyone. Look forward to many metres of ascent, pure singletrack fun on the way down and, in between, sweet and savoury treats to refuel on in friendly mountain inns.

The easily accessible towns of Gstaad and Zweisimmen are your starting points. These are also ideal places to stay overnight if you’re visiting the region for several days. In and around Gstaad you’ll find a great range of hotels and other accommodation just a short ride from the countryside. Or, if your legs are still recovering from the previous day’s exertions, simply hop on a mountain railway to catch a ride up the next hill.

If you’re travelling on particularly hot summer days, it’s also worth taking a look at the map before setting out. Almost every ride passes an area of water, including mountain lakes, streams and rivers, perfect for cooling off.
