A dune on the edge of the big city or exciting rock formations amidst nature? A city built on airy heights or cool-themed trails in the heart of the forest? In our search for special wintertime experiences in Germany’s Rhine-Main region, we came across some exciting hikes. Do you love the winter season as much as we do and want to discover more? Then you'll find the right Tours in this Collection.
No matter what you're in the mood for during your winter holidays, in the Rhine-Main region you can combine your hike experiences such as a wildcat adventure or a visit to one of the many historic old towns. While fantastic winter views await along the romantic Rhine, you'll perhaps also find yourself in a serene, icy lake landscape on the city of Fulda’s outskirts.
The Tours are between 6 and 18 kilometres (4 and 11 mi) long. We have included alternative start and end points at places like bus stops and train stations, so that you can adapt the hikes to suit your needs. Of course, you can also plan your arrival and departure using public transport. This way you can leave your car at home, travel in peace and quiet and do something positive for the environment.
To make planning a doddle, don’t forget to download the RMVgo app from the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund. This gives you the RMV timetable information to hand, as well as the option to buy mobile tickets for your next bus or train journey. All information about the app can be found here: sites.rmv.de/en/rmvgo
