In this Collection, we present 11 varied Tours that will be a delight for you and your little ones. This mountainous region in Bavaria offers exciting hikes through gorges said to be inhabited by spirits to clear lakes, panoramic peaks, and rustic alpine pastures where you can tuck into Kaiserschmarren, traditional sweet pancakes with raisins, which your children will love. The geological path is sure to arouse your curiosity whilst you can test your surefootedness on the barefoot trail. The Karwendel feel like a fairytale – let yourself be amazed!
Everywhere you and your family go, you will be accompanied by the Karwendel’s unique panorama which towers majestically over the beautiful villages of Krün, Wallgau and Mittenwald. The contrast between the bright limestone rocks and green surrounding is very impressive. On these hikes, which have a difficulty rating of easy to moderately difficult, you experience the Karwendel’s alpine world to the fullest. You can easily manage all of the routes with your children. You can also reach the hikes with public transport. The Alpenwelt Karwendel guest house allows you to use all bus connections free of charge.
The hikes are never longer than 9 kilometres (5.6 miles and cover a maximum of 410 metres (1,345 feet) in altitude. If it does get too much, you can always turn back. Make sure you’re equipped with enough drinks and child-friendly snacks and the hike will be doubly as good. You’ll also be prepared for a minor emergency.
