Sparkling ice crystals, clear air and snow-covered mountain peaks - in winter, the wild nature in the Bavarian Forest National Park presents itself particularly primordial and peaceful.
In this collection you will find exciting snowshoe tours of different lengths and difficulty levels. There is something for everyone, from short tours for snowshoe beginners to challenging day tours.
When planning your tours, remember that in winter and on snowshoes, longer walking times than indicated are usually to be expected.
To ensure that nothing stands in the way of unclouded winter enjoyment for humans and nature, it is particularly important that you always stay on the marked trails. This serves to protect endangered animal and plant species, such as the capercaillie. In addition, you should pack enough provisions and drinks, as the mountain huts are only open to a limited extent in winter.Further tips for visiting the national park in winter can be found in our blog article: <nationalpark-bayerischer-wald.bayern.de/aktuelles/blog/detailansicht.htm?ID=A%2Bs3RgSTi2Ru8%2FgIVlRvhQ%3D%3D>Please note when hiking in the national park:
- Always ensure good equipment: map, sturdy footwear, drink, first aid kit, bad weather clothing and mobile phone not forgotten. This serves your own safety.
- Please be aware of dangers from falling trees and deadwood. Use of the trails is at your own risk. Please leave the forest in strong winds for your own protection.
- Please do not leave any litter in the area! Dog poop bags or tissues also have no place in nature. Help us keep our wild forest clean. Thank you!
An overview of the rules of conduct and information on the marking system in the national park can be found at <nationalpark-bayerischer-wald.bayern.de/besucher/verhaltenstipps/index.htm>
