As you’re building a new route using the planner, komoot’s algorithm now prioritizes paths with more scenery whenever possible. This means that, for all sports (except road cycling), komoot will include any nearby lakes, forests, and parks in your route—provided they don't prolong your journey too much.

Rest assured, you no longer have to skip the greener paths just to save a few minutes. ⛰️

Previously, it took a deep dive to find out where an activity had been recorded. Now, the location is shown directly in your feed on iOS and Android.

This way, you no longer have to worry about seeing your dream route pop up on the feed just to find out after some digging that it’s… well, on a whole different continent.

Decide instantly which routes to save for next time, and which ones to admire from a distance. 🗺️

Good news for Garmin users: Gone are the days of messing around with codes to connect your watch.

Now, when you install the komoot app on your Garmin device, you can log in directly from the app on your phone by scanning a QR code. And when you press “Navigate with Garmin” on iOS, the komoot app automatically opens on your watch—so no more fiddling around with tiny icons. 😮‍💨

You can now see photo galleries for routes you’ve planned from scratch. Whenever your planned route overlaps with areas where other komoot users have shared images, relevant photos will automatically appear—it’s like tapping into the collective knowledge of the komoot community.

This way you can check for things like recent trail conditions, unexpected obstacles, or what the route typically looks like this time of year.
