Sometimes you want to preview a destination along your route in Apple or Google Maps—say, to check the opening hours of a nearby bike shop or read reviews for a local café.
Previously, getting there with komoot meant copying and pasting exact coordinates from Apple or Google Maps into the app. This latest change makes the process effortless: just tap “Share” on your chosen location in Apple or Google Maps, and open it directly in komoot.

As you’re building a new route using the planner, komoot’s algorithm now prioritizes paths with more scenery whenever possible. This means that, for all sports (except road cycling), komoot will include any nearby lakes, forests, and parks in your route—provided they don't prolong your journey too much.

Previously, it took a deep dive to find out where an activity had been recorded. Now, the location is shown directly in your feed on iOS and Android.

Good news for Garmin users: Gone are the days of messing around with codes to connect your watch.

You can now see photo galleries for routes you’ve planned from scratch. Whenever your planned route overlaps with areas where other komoot users have shared images, relevant photos will automatically appear—it’s like tapping into the collective knowledge of the komoot community.
