I already rode this route two years ago with an e-bike. Now I wanted to see if I could manage it without e-assistance, and it worked.
Currently, however, I would end the trip in Harburg and take the train there. The route from Harburg to Hamburg Central Station is very confusing and difficult to find due to construction.

The route was strenuous. This was mainly due to the fact that a large part of the path runs behind the dike. The dike to the left, meadows and fields to the right, with the occasional house. It eventually became boring for me. There was too little variety in the way of small harbors, towns, or landscapes.
