Ich gehe gerne wandern in Osthessen. ;-)
From the Grashof there is initially no incline to the east. In the forest, a path with a bridge leads over a gorge to the elevated reservoir. At the southern edge of the forest you have a view of the fields between Bucheller and Veitsteinbach. It goes down through the forest with a view of Kalbach and Kaliberg, before reaching the starting point on a flat path.

From the control room, the path leads through the forest via the A7 to Melters and on to the Dornhecke farm. At the basalt outcrop and Hof Steinhauck (caution, private property - you have to make a detour of approx. 200m), it goes with a wonderful view of the Rhön Mountains until just before Pilgerzell, where the A7 is crossed. The path returns to the starting point through the forest area of the Müshecke and the Breitweihergrund.

Through the castle park follow the black “W” mark on a white background over meadows, the village of Schachen and through the “Seemannstannen”, up to the Wachtküppel (706m) with a wooden cross on the summit (wonderful view of the entire Rhön. It's worth it here Have a picnic, but watch out for the cute goats.
Continue past the inn "Zum Wachküppel" and past the famous Rhön Academy Schwarzerden, crossing the street Gersfeld - Poppenhausen to Ebersburg. From the Ebersburg through the forest to Altenfeld (bad signage). From there on the bike path R1 back to Gersfeld.

After the wet meadows of the NSG Struthwiesen, the path goes through the forest of Marchgrund to the parking lot of the same name on the L2304. For the way section through the valley of the Schmidtwasser this is crossed twice. Shortly before Heubach, the path turns west and leads up along the edge of the forest with a beautiful view of Heubach and the Kalbach district. At the border of the NSG Seifferts it goes back to the parking lot.

The path through the Kohlwald is accompanied by so-called main coat of arms, which until 1792 marked the border between the Schluchter and Fulda districts. Through the limestone forest you come to the Struthwiese car park. After a short distance to the west it goes along the historic wine route that led from Franconia to Fulda. From the edge of the forest there is a wide view to the ridges. Then you come back to the parking lot.
