The City of Gelsenkirchen used the 1997 year of the Capital of Culture and the Federal Horticultural Show to build a kind of park out of the former Nordstern colliery. The result is the Nordsternpark, which is directly adjacent to the Rhine-Herne Canal and through which you can stroll wonderfully. A beer garden also invites you to stop for a break ☺️

The Toepper - a quarry pond in the west of Duisburg (Rheinhausen). The route is suitable for a short walk or a jogging lap. There are ducks, swans, geese, rabbits and squirrels to discover 🐿️ 😍

Relaxed run out on the last day! It goes right at the hotel along the road through the small village. The church invites you to take a short tour. The asphalt portion is unfortunately a bit higher on this stage. However, you often walk through small towns and / or farms where there is always something to discover. There are refreshment stops in Wiesen. Theoretically, you can shorten this stage by bus or drive it completely. You can find more information about this stage at: reiseziege.de/einmal-ueber-die-alpen-tegernsee-sterzing-tag-7-von-pfitsch-nach-sterzing

From the hotel you go to the train station in Mayrhofen. This is where the bus starts, which brings us to the Schlegeis reservoir on this stage. If you want to walk this route, you should plan two more days, because it is a good 30 km to the Schlegeis reservoir. The journey time is approx. 50 minutes. Depending on how long the waiting time is at the toll station. The first few meters you walk on asphalt along the shore. From here you have a grandi view of the reservoir and the Schlegeiskees. At the end of the street you cross the Zemmgrund and immediately turn right again towards Pfitscherjoch. After about 90 minutes, the Lavitzalm is an ideal place to stop for a break before going up to the Pfitscherjochhaus. By the way, Spaghetti Bolognese or the Hüttenmaccheroni are highly recommended ☺️The descent into the Pfitschtal is steep, rocky and steep. If the weather doesn't cooperate, there is a shuttle to the Pfitschtal at a quarter past four. Registration required! There is also a bus in the valley, in case you want to save the last few kilometers to the hotel. You can find more information about this stage at: https: //reiseziege.de/einmal-ueber-die-alpen-tegernsee-sterzing-tag-6-von-mayrhofen-nach-pfitsch

Since I accidentally ended the tour while climbing, the ascent and descent are separate 🙈You can find the ascent here in a separate tour.

With the Ahornbahn you float from Mayrhofen to the Ahorn plateau at almost 2000 meters. The hike to Edelhütte starts here. A partly narrow and mostly stony mountain hiking trail leads up to the hut. The view over the Zillertal is terrific. The stop at the hut as well!➡️ Sure-footed required
➡️ Must have a head for heights
Since I accidentally ended the tour at Komoot at the hut, you will find the descent in a separate tour 🙈

Today's stage starts right at the hotel in Hochfügen. You walk over the Pfundsalm and the Sidanjoch to the Rastkogelhütte. Here you can then choose one of the two variants:1. The somewhat more difficult route over the Mitterwandskopf, Rauhenkopf and Arbiskopfor2. The easy way to Melchboden in just under an hourIn this recording I ran the 2nd variant. The bus stop is right next to the Melchboden. From there you take the bus to the train station in Hippach, then continue with the Zillertalbahn to the train station in Mayrhofen. Alternatively, if you don't want to wait for the bus, you can call a taxi

The morning begins with the journey to Fügen. I take the bus to Jenbach, where I change to the Zillertal Bahn (runs every 30 minutes) and drive to Fügen train station. The bus stop is only three minutes away from the hotel in Maurach. You can find a picture of the bus schedule (as of 2021) in the photos. We continue on foot through the village to the valley station of the Spieljochbahn. The first few meters in altitude are therefore relaxed with the cable car. From the mountain station, follow the Ü again, first in the direction of the Spieljoch summit, then on over the Onkeljoch to lunch at the Gartalm. Here Bruno the "problem bear" plundered the honey store many years ago.You finally walk over alpine rose meadows and through the forest to Hochfügen. In summer, the otherwise lively winter resort is rather sleepy. Three hotels are open for those crossing the Alps. Otherwise there is nothing up here except peace and nature! You can find more information about this stage at:
