From Tönning today we have made a boat trip to Eidersperrwerk. The barrier serves the coastal defense, the Eider locks in storm tides from tidal current, which used to often led to glorious floods deep into the interior. In the Eider is a mixture of salt and fresh water, so that actually all North Sea residents are native. In the lock today was with us a seal, unfortunately, one can only guess the one in the photo 😥. A ranger from the Wadden Sea National Park has reported a lot of interesting things. A worthwhile trip in glorious North Sea weather. 😃

The Hamburger Hallig is a remnant of the storm surge 2. Manndränke from 1634. It fell a large part of the coast to the flood victims, left in addition to the island Nordstrand and Pellworm and the Hamburger Hallig. Through the large salt marsh you can walk to the Hallig, at about 60 days a year, however, "land below". The path leads through a beautiful bird sanctuary, delicious food is available in the Hallig-Krog.
