We had saved the most beautiful part for last. Unfortunately, the BMW factory security thwarted our plans and didn't open the gates. So we had to turn back for a bit and walk along the boring road to the car.
It was a beautiful tour nonetheless, and we rode the closed-off section by bike some time ago.

Naturally an exhausting tour in the heat, but scenically very beautiful, especially from Eichstätt onwards. Many asphalt cycle paths away from the main roads.
