Thank you K, X Rosie and all!! Last trip up the mountain I'm afraid as it will get too cold to stay warm and then they close it for the season due to snow, back open again in June.

Great photos, Bobby. Looks like time to head to the water!
Lots of smoke in the air and clouds makes an unhappy boy!
My plans were to go to The Meadows tonight up in the North Cascades and right now there is a band of clouds and smoke rolling through the area that should say it but here are some of the things I would have seen and where it all began...24 trips…

You did get a great ride in today, Bobby, despite the smoke, and every time I see your image of the Milky Way I swoon! Your venerable chauffeur--thank you!
Nice balmy ride one of those days when you just want to keep going. In this case a tribute to those who perished when Mount St. Helens erupted on May 18, 1980.
Images from early on 10 years after the eruption, a couple of aerials and more modern 2022 images from Johnson Ridge Observatory directly north of the lava dome.

I love your photos documenting Mt. St. Helens and loved going there with you to witness how it looks today. Those of us who lived in Washington State in 1980 will never forget what happened that day. Thank you, Bobby!

Been a few days since I've been riding and felt it right after dinner, darker now...rather amazing and after 36 hours up pulling an all-nighter in the N. Cascades stargazing and imaging.
