Aaron Stokes

Wandering harpist, long-distance cyclist, and seeker of quiet miracles.

Pedaling a bike I call my "Camel named Clyde", exploring trails (sometimes metaphorical ones), chasing open roads, collecting good stories, and seeking the kind of silence that lets the soul breathe...

I always bring musical instruments with me for those special moments and soon I plan to engineer a way to carry a small harp when I can —and record whatever comes out of those moments. Much of my music is born from the saddle, along with the occasional affirmation whispered to myself when the miles get heavy. I'm not racing, not chasing KOMs—just moving through the world with curiosity and a little music.

If you like slow-burn adventures, roadside epiphanies, and the idea that a bike ride can be a kind of pilgrimage… come along.

Clyde’s already rolling.

-- 2026 update
The surgeries are over and I officially have permission to train for the big rides that were so crewely denied us in 2025. To be able to make the most of this year and get myself back into proper working order, I'm training regularly and so you are going to see a lot of shorter runs (under 20 miles) for a few weeks and we will be moving up to 50 + as my strength returns. It's the end of january as I write this and it's cold. February in northern utah is usually colder... BAH!!! I want to be ready when the snow melts in the mountains so I have no time to waste! I've got my cold weather gear and We're already having a ball scrambling in the Icy and muddy roads & trails!

Ogden Loop

This is my second trip around Ogden and I think I’m finally narrowing in on what I considered to be the perfect route around the city.

This was Denise‘s first time around Ogden. We’ve both done the parkway many times, but I wasn’t sure if she would be able to…

Early Park Loop (cut short)

This was a really fun ride that connects Box Elder County to Cash Valley.

There’s pavement through the Rurel parts of the counties and gravel over the mountain, which makes it quite fun.

I’ve been wanting to try this loop out for a while and finally got around to it.…

The Hiawatha rail trail

This spectacular ride is never a disappointment!

We’ve been wanting to take our kids up to this one for a long time. Sadly, we were only able to bring two out of five and none of the grandkids were able to come but it was a party from beginning to…

Logan‘s run

This is a new route that I think has great potential. Overall, it was a lot of fun, but there are some challenges….

The pros:
this is a great way to get through Logan, following some beautiful paths, awesome tunnels, and some gorgeous rivers.

The cons:
I’ve always considered Logan…

Perry pretzel

Another mindless and Helter skelter ramble through as much gravel as we could legally ride (sort of)

I know we’re really pushing our luck on some of those roads but as far as I could tell, we didn’t get any farmers mad at us this time.

There are so many…

Ogden Parkway

This one is always a blast. We’re not usually able to access this entire route this time of year because Ogden River and Weber River are usually swollen to overflowing and many of the underpasses are impassable... We are definitely going to have a drought year.

We enjoyed this one so much the other day that we just had to take Denise along this time. Ken’s ribs are even better today so he was leading the pack most of the time.

We saw so many baby horses today! I keep saying it, I love this time…
