The Zemi Valley... in the center of the land of beautiful horses, as Cappadocia was once called, is no longer an insider tip, but it is still impressive and beautiful to hike. Especially since you can come up with some lovely alternative routes. That's what we did. From the main road between Uchisar

Brevity is the soul of wit.
A highlight right at the beginning: St. John's Church, or Cavushin Castle, dating back to the 5th century. It was carved entirely into the rock.
The hollowed-out massif rises 100 meters high (at least the parts that haven't collapsed yet). At its foot lies the picturesque village

Uchisar: Our first hike in Cappadocia took us first over the hills opposite Uchisar, then down a narrow path into the Pigeon Valley, and then up one of the numerous paths and back to Uchisar, where we'd be staying for the next nine days.
Apart from the detour from the Pigeon Valley up to the halfway point

Nice weather in Stuttgart..... And it still drew us to the Alb.
It was cold. It was foggy. It was mystical....
On the Albtraufweg between Aufhausen and Türkheim.
It was nice anyway, also because of the late lunch stop at Hörners Landgasthof.
Have fun hiking.
The good 10 km weren't really strenuous because of the lack of elevation.

It is 11 a.m.
The Hochbebel is slowly dissolving, at the Eichhölzle car park.
The light is becoming more and more contrasting.
The blue of the sky and the glow of the completely icy branches of the trees have their own magic. A unique day on the Geislinger Alb, a wonderful little hike along the Albtrauf

Small, beautiful, women-friendly hike in the Allgäu.
Good paths... not too long... acceptable ascents and descents... beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Wonderful nature and colors in autumn and, finally, the unique carriage museum.
An all-round successful day of hiking. Certainly doable in

From our home in Groschwitz, we cycled through countless small hamlets and forest and meadow paths, climbing steeply and steeply, to Bad Berka. A hearty meal at Café Zeit, then continued along the Ilmtal Cycle Path back to the Groschwitz estate.
An absolutely worthwhile country outing that could certainly
