IN THE REALM OF TALESPromisingly, the name of the hike sounded like "Sleeping Beauty Circular Walk" and in fact I felt temporarily transferred to my childhood. I started at the Wanderparkplatz "Am alte Bild", where Snow White greeted me. My first destination was the Stäffelsberg tower, from which I had a great view.
The fairy tale stations on the way brought me into a pleasant childlike mood. On the way to ruin Guttenberg I enjoyed the forest and the silence in it. Only a few hikers were on the way. Arrived at the ruins, I was fascinated by the old walls. I saw faces in the cliffs and hearts in the ivy. The child in me was active and I enjoyed letting my imagination run wild.
After a long break, I set off again. The circular walk now led a little over the Westwallweg. Along the way, I discovered relics from the Second World War: bunker remains, parts of trenches, etc. Way was the world of fairy tales, away was the childlike magic. My first thought: how can you call a path "Sleeping Beauty Circular Trail", if it partially runs along the west wall? Too bad that this section had torn me from my enchanting mood.
