The route leads you through varied forest, meadows, and field paths. The Aa-Strang towers over with its wide and water view, and exudes calm and relaxation.
But the best thing about hiking is always the unexpected. These were the horse paddocks of the Klaaßen estate. This farm houses up to 150 young horses plus breeding animals. As a former rider and absolute horse lover, I couldn't stop being amazed!

You start and end in the romantic monastery village of Marienthal. A resort with an unmistakable atmosphere.

The paths of this route lead you through the picturesque Issel Valley to the Dusk Forest Adventure Trail.

If you like to watch deer you are in the right place in the Üftermark, the population is very high here!
The special highlight of this route is the Üftermark viewing platform, over the Rhader Weg Schermbeck. If you keep your gaze to the left on the platform, you have a brilliant view of the rutting place (rutting season September to October), the around 20 deer in the area.
Today we were able to observe seven red deer animals with binoculars there. Another group of red deer ran over almost two mountain bikers about 60m in front of us.
Furthermore, you pass through varied forest areas, including the Deutener Moor.
Attention: Borkener Str. Has been given a wild fence, which means that many side paths are no longer passable.
I have already blocked two ways via Komoot, further help from you would be really helpful!

Experience an extraordinary landscape on the Lower Rhine. It goes over footbridges through dunes, heather and moor in the middle of the Diersfordt Forest near Wesel. We continue to the Heideweiher "Black Water". Around the water there is also an impressive flora and fauna to marvel at.

In the 1960s, August Drießen built the fairy tale forest in Dingden. Not only did his own children enjoy this fairytale forest, but also many other generations. Due to its old ruins and the Mumbeckerbach, this wooded area on Krechtinger Str. In Dingden has become one of the most popular NATURE PLAYGROUNDS in the WESTMÜNTERLAND and LOWER RHINE. Not only little researchers get their money's worth here, but also mountain bikers, runners and hikers. We also socialized our puppies there . The route leads you through the entire fairy tale forest with its wonderful brook course. Furthermore, the tour leads around the most beautiful stork's nest (Leopoldskamp) on the Dingden Heath.
You can find more rounds of the Dingdener Heide in this collection: komoot.de/collection/1048240/-dingdener-heide-naturschutzgebiet-hamminkeln

The route leads you straight up steeply. You go up the stairs to the horizon observatory.
More adventurous panoramic views accompany you on the great balcony terraces and paths. In order to get even closer to the mountain feeling as people from the Lower Rhine region, we sometimes walked very narrow and bumpy paths. In the "HALDE HOHEWART", however, very good fixed routes can also be selected. As a little foray, the route goes past the Emscher and the Ewaldsee.

The route starts and ends at the train station to get from A to B easily. The climb to the Rolandsbogen is the most strenuous.
The further up and down are a little easier. For me as a Lower Rhine resident, the route has an absolute holiday feeling because of the altitude difference.
Enjoy the beautiful and wide valley views.

The route starts at a particularly popular destination, the small village of Krudenburg (300 inhabitants) on the Lippe.
Enjoy the wonderful meadow landscape until you reach the Drevenacker Dunes, a nature reserve to the east of Wesel, the heathland of which is characterized by sand dunes, pine forests and heather moors.

This route includes the most beautiful places in Wesel. You hike from Aue See over the Rheindamm, through the Diersfordter Wald to the moor adventure trail. You continue to follow the original route “HOHE MARK STEIG” to “Black Water”.
From the Issel on I changed the original route. Instead of going to the Bärenschleuse (walked yesterday: komoot.de/tour/354249057) you walk around the Hamminkeln arboretum.

The first 16 km of the route lead you on a narrow path along the Issel. For a short detour to the carved tree figures, you leave the path of the Issel.
From the Bärenschleuse the Issel bends and it goes towards the Otto Pankok Museum.
The way back leads through Brünen with a fantastic view of the valley again and again. From the Kugelberg you can look up to the Wesel Rhine Bridge.
You can find more rounds with the "HOHE MARK STEIG" here:
