"Only" 50 km – for an e-bike tour, actually not that much. But precisely the ascent to the Bocksberg was over long stretches very rooty, stony and partly also slightly muddy, so that faster progress was not really possible.

Furthermore, the rustic, fairytale-like paths along the ditches were again a delight

The last Sunday in August was once again dedicated to the bicycle experience day in the Innerstetal. Despite the best weather (apart from the headwind from the southwest), I decided this time to travel from Langelsheim to Wildemann not completely by road, but via paths running parallel to it – not least

After work, we went up over the not-so-high Harz hills in pleasantly fresh air.

Shortly after climbing the Kurtsberg, there was a surprising encounter with a herd of wild boars on the path (about 50 m as the crow flies), which promptly made me turn back and take a detour.

It started at the parking lot of the sports field, which was already quite full due to a football match. Up to the first viewpoint, it went through light deciduous forest only slightly uphill. The view there (at the Fosseckenh

Gleaming sunshine, dry air, over 30°C in the shade – the tour was therefore not quite as long today, but it still had its challenges. Above all, the stagnant, dry air that built up on the field and forest paths led to Föhn-like experiences.

Wow – what a tour that was. In stormy winds, we set off from the car park in Böhl along the dike line to the lighthouse, the first highlight of the route. At the start of the weekend, with a slightly stuffy 28°C, I went on a circular tour to Hahnenklee. Unfortunately, the ascent offered hardly any views; it was consistently well-shaded forest paths. When I reached the top, I actually wanted to take a break at the "Harz Riviera" on the Kuttelbacher Teich
