I did this route in the beginning of June, and we had the Danube floods.
Nice tour to Dunakeszi, the city was overflooded, so it was no way to continue in this way, turn back and go through to Budakalász and back to Budapest.
The cycle lanes are great in this route, mostly car free with interesting sights
