Getting an early start isn't our thing right now: After we had already set off late anyway, we wasted a relatively large amount of time looking for parking and then parked a bit off the actual trail.
So we didn't set off until around 12:30.
After the access path was mastered, it immediately started with

We actually wanted to leave yesterday.
And actually go to the Belgian Ardennes.
After some bookings (via various platforms) of the few, still somewhat affordable accommodations in the region (the idea with the Belgian Ardennes had apparently occurred to a few others too) and cancellations by the respective

Woke up late, hastily picked a destination and set off.
Barely parked and started walking, when we were approached by an elderly gentleman who was out with his rollator and dachshund bag (incl. dachshund): Whether we were from the area? We denied it. We were to remember a few numbers: 1-2-4-8, 1-8-8-0

Today I wasn't motivated at all to get in the car and drive somewhere.
Starting from Erkelenz, however, means first overcoming almost 4 km of fields and arable land.
Actually sounds like a boring day.
However, @LucyOne didn't want to do that, because she wanted to do just that. Move.
The compromise was then

Today just a small round, I thought: After living in Erkelenz for 17.5 years, I really have to see the highlight "Bluebells" in neighboring Doveren. Judging by the masses of komoot tours, they are probably blooming right now.
So I quickly grabbed a tour from local hero @Marianne (Janny) and my favorite

“Let’s look for your trekking pole today!” LucyOne suggested this morning.
“Oh, great,” I thought, “we might as well look for the Holy Grail, the chances of finding the trekking pole I lost last week are probably similar.”
Besides, I already walked the route last week. 2 times in a row the same route

Last day, last round.
Selected a small tour that is near our accommodation: An "Eislek Pad", something like the "Traumschleifen" (dream loops) near us.
It seemed to us like a summary of the last few days: forest paths, dirt paths, stream valleys, paths along the Our, rocky paths, Layen (or Lays?).
Nice conclusion.
We liked it.

Today was the last stage of our Escapardenne Lee Trail.
But first, we parked in Hosingen, because buses ran from here to the start in Hoscheid and also arrived from our destination Kautenbach.
The bus stop was found quickly, our bus was due in 15 minutes. However, the app showed more and more delay, at

Today, thanks to the improved public transport connection due to the public holiday, I tackled the second part of the Escapardenne Lee Trail.
There are no super-duper highlights like in Müllerthal here, but that's not necessary either: The trail itself is top-notch.
Mostly dirt paths, hillside paths, and

We started today in Larochette, parked on the outskirts of town.
Hardly out of the car, the first highlight for me: a rock garage. That is, a garage built into the rock. I have no idea why I found that so remarkable. Perhaps because a mundane utility space in an incredibly beautiful rock formation created

For a change, I followed a tour of my own: I walked this tour almost exactly 3 years ago with my son. We just parked in Consdorf back then, and today in Berdorf.
Almost directly, we headed towards the Räuberhöhle (Robber's Cave), which you can climb inside using ladders and where you emerge at the Adlerhorst

Hardly out of the car in Ettelbrück, we had already taken the first 15 photos: well-made graffiti.
Then, taking photos, through the nice and surprisingly clean town towards the train station and the trail start. We wanted to see if there was something like a trailhead there. But: where the path was supposed

On the drive south, it was time for a stopover. @LucyOne asked "Do you know the Katzensteine near Burg Satzvey?" "Yes, it's nice." (I was there a few years ago, greetings to @Ellen Joot Zo Foos 👋).
The Katzensteine presented themselves beautifully photogenic, posed for us, allowed themselves to be climbed

Out and about not too far away today: In the Maasduinen, more precisely at the Landgoed de Hamert. We've been there a few times before, but it's always worth repeating. From the parking lot, we went straight into the forest, where we first discussed our tendency to be know-it-alls (not the best tendency

Today a "stopover on the way back" tour.
It was supposed to be a round near Gerolstein, I haven't been here in a long time and didn't know the area at all. So it was perfect.
We picked out the 8 km short Gerolsteiner Felsenpfad.
We started at the Kasselburg, next to which there is also an eagle and wolf
