Once again to go other ways outside of the city.
A few minutes of sunshine in the morning, then unfortunately it became cloudy. ... is November.
      It was nice anyway.
Above the city, also in the area of the quarry and Cospoth, I was alone, not seeing anyone - very unusual for this area.
In spring I will go this route again .... 😎

Spontaneously chosen a short trip to Rudolstadt today. I took a path up through the castle grounds and then down into the old town. Amazingly many people on the market square (market day). Although various signs indicated that a mask was required, not nearly 50% of the visitors were "masked" ... 🧐
Have bowed a wide range of events and back up past the castle ....
The cool, sunny weather was also very tempting for a walk in the forest behind Heidecksburg Castle.
My way led up a stately hill to the lion bank. There is even a little view of the city there. There are signposts, only there are no signposts ...
Apparently intended for insiders or for hikers with good map (Komoot) material ...
Very beautiful forest with many paths and even a children's adventure path. (starts with the owl, fig. 47 👀).
👍 .... and a very nice hiking area.

Nice little tour from Kahla to the Dohlenstein, around the Leuchtenburg and back with a short detour.
Highly recommended in dry weather. The ascent requires sturdy shoes and surefootedness.

A short tour through the old town of Kahla.
It's worth taking a photo tour in late spring, when it's blooming again and sunlight illuminates the many narrow streets.
Kahla was not bombed during World War II and not a single house was destroyed. The Allies needed the skilled workers and engineers from the REIMAG aircraft factory (in Walpersberg). This largely underground factory was not attacked either ...
Unfortunately, this beautiful historical building could not be well preserved due to the shortage economy in the GDR.
With extensive renovations, the city is now well on the way to becoming a center of attraction for tourism.
Take the time for the beautiful old town, beautiful sights and views and then of course for the Leuchtenburg.

A wonderful autumn tour with sunshine and very pleasant fellow hikers (Bärbel, Inge Müller and Karo).
Red sandstone rocks, raven bowl and Helenenstein were some of the highlights of the tour.
Many thanks to the participants for this wonderful day. Maybe it will work out again soon with a group.
      😎

Arranged for a beautiful hike with great people via Komoot, rewarded with wonderful autumn weather - what more could the hiker want. Many thanks to Richter for his knowledgeable guide to the red sandstone formations at Maua.

Great weather, so get some fresh air.
      Walpersberg the goal.
The mountain went down in history because the world's first jet-powered fighter (Me 263) was mass-produced here during World War II. See also photos 38 and 39.
Production took place in 3 floors of tunnels in the mountain. In total, there should have been 28 km of tunnels in the Walpersberg ...
Visits to a small part of the facilities could possibly be registered. See photo 5.
The small mill museum "Alte Dehna-Mühle" behind the mountain should also be mentioned, see photos. Wasn't there myself because nobody was there ...
The former airfield on the mountain is now a forest. There are trees in each of the small blast holes in the concrete runway. The Red Army tried very amateurishly to make the airfield unusable 🤭
Well, it was very shortly after the war ...

Brought the car to "Steinreich & Opitz" and then hiked a round to the sights of the area.
At first very cool and foggy, but soon Klärchen broke through 🌞. ... that was so nice ...
For the first time I was in the rock caves below the bastion. In the past, the finest sand was used here to clean the wooden floorboards. In front of the caves and halfway up the bastion there are also nice resting places with a view of the Saale valley. 😎👍
