Start und Ende ist der Bahnhof Storkow, den man aus Richtung Königs Wusterhausen oder Frankfurt/Oder z.B. mit dem RB36 erreichen kann. Von dort geht es zunächst zur Binnendüne, einer recht ansehnlichen Ansammlung feinsten Zuckersandes mitten im Kiefernwald (perfekt fürs Eierkullern zu Ostern). Dieser Hügel ist übrigens die kleinere Schwester der Wanderdüne zwischen Luckenwalde und Jüterbog - ebenfalls eine Wanderung wert! Nach der Binnendüne geht's zum Knüppeldamm und dem eigentlichen Start um den See. Ich bin im Januar gelaufen, da sollte man trittsicher sein, die Bohlen sind sehr rutschig. Der weitere Verlauf ist nahezu ebenerdig entlang des Ufers mit Ausblicken über den See, Waldwegen, auf denen einem der Duft von frisch geschlagenen Kiefernstämmen um die Nase weht und man sich auf einem Waldlehrpfad etwas weiterbilden kann (wenn man möchte). Die Schafbrücke über den Kanal zum Scharmützelsee ist dann der Wendepunkt und kurz darauf geht es über einen weiteren Knüppeldamm durchs Wendisch-Rietzer Moor. Am Ortseingang Storkow ist unbedingt das Lädchen SPEISEKAMMER mit angeschlossenem Wohnzimmercafé und idyllischem Mini- Draußenbiergarten zu empfehlen. Kaffee gibt es auch to go. Auf den letzten Metern streift man noch die Burg Storkow (hier ein Museum und ein Burg-Café).

Hübsche Vorstadtvillen, Waldidylle, einen asiatischen Garten und eine alte Dampflok - mehr Abwechslung geht nun wirklich nicht. Und Start und Endpunkt sind ganz leicht mit der S-Bahn zu erreichen.

Diese Runde ist etwas für heiße Sommertage oder im Herbst, wenn sich die Blätter an den Bäumen färben. Der Weg verläuft ausschließlich auf Naturwegen und ohne große Anstiege. Für eine Wanderpause gibt es unterwegs viele idyllische Sitzgelegenheiten. Die Cafés in der Wassermühle oder dem Marstall sind jedoch nur sonnabends, sonntags und an Feiertagen geöffnet (Stand: August 2025).

Jup - kann man machen, wenn man urbanes Flair mit Wasser und Natur verbinden möchte. Es ist erstaunlich, wie viele ruhige Wege es doch inmitten der Großstadt gibt - und wie viele spontane Streckensperrungen. Als Alternative verläuft direkt an der Wasserkante ein Ufertrampfelpfad, für den aber lange Kleidung (Brombeerranken, Brennesseln) empfehlenswert ist.
