The water rushes roaring over numerous waterfalls into the wild and romantic Almbachklamm gorge. The natural spectacle was made accessible on numerous bridges and footbridges. The oldest marble ball mill in Germany can be admired at the entrance to the gorge. The magical hike through the gorge is a special experience.

Leisurely Sunday afternoon walk with the offspring. Beautiful weather. The Sagberg is a 435 meter high mountain ridge above the Wiental. The mountain got its name from a sawmill built at the foot of the mountain. The construction of the Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Westbahn meant a radical change in the village

In the eastern part of the Hohe Wand there are not many climbs that can be described as "comfortable". The Bründlries is a path that quickly leads to the top, but does not contain any steep ascents or climbing passages. Nevertheless, 400 meters of altitude have to be conquered, so a certain level of

Nice hike over the local mountain of Hütteldorf and back over the Steinhofgrund. Retreat in the large refuge Rosental - good food and huge portions. We went to the Medl-Bräu in Linzer Straße for a debriefing - not bad.

A leisurely crossing of the Lainzer Tiergarten, this time from Laab to Lainz, crossing the highest mountain in the area, the Kaltbründlberg (508 m) with the Hubertuswarte (closed in winter). The starting and end points can be easily reached by public buses.

Easy hike from Hornstein to the Sonnenberg (unfortunately the sun wasn't at home today) and on to Eisenstadt. Lunch in the Alm restaurant in the Gloriette - highly recommended. Then it's not far down to Eisenstadt, from there the train brought us back to Vienna.

Unfortunately, my Garmin said goodbye halfway

The round begins with 4 km of asphalt through the cellar lane of Schöngrabern. Still worth it, because of the many beautifully renovated press houses and also because of the wide view of the country. The pilgrimage church of Klein Maria Dreieichen is quite hidden in the forest. The further way through

Flatland hike through the Lobau on a wonderful autumn day. The established refreshment station "Uferhaus" was of course closed due to lockdown, we will be back in spring. The bridges over the Eßlinger Furt were closed due to construction work, so the tour has been extended by a good 3 km. It was nice anyway.

During the hike in the southwestern Waldviertel there are many interesting and legendary rock formations along the way. For example the Reitstein, Totenkopf and Drachenstein, the Steinerne Kornmandl and the Herzstein. You can even climb the skull via metal stairs. From the open areas you have magnificent

The Donau-Auen National Park, located between the cities of Vienna and Bratislava on the left bank of the Danube, preserves one of the largest floodplain landscapes in Central Europe. The Danube, which is still free flowing here, is constantly redesigning the floodplain with its recurring floods. The
