A look at the weather app🌨️🌦️ ... significantly changed my travel plans. Instead of going to Müritz, there was a final tent dismantling and off we went for the final adventure of my tour - and it begins - as for many of us... at the train station😛🤣🤣.

So, off to Magdeburg and into the jungle of delays

This time I could pack up in the most beautiful morning sun and off I went through the fields of the Magdeburger Börde in the direction of Schönebeck [Gradierwerk mit Zahnlücke], further across the Elbe to the campsite at Kolumbussee [my feel-good address directly on the quarry lake]. I'll stay here

After a hearty night thunderstorm, the day began with the king discipline of all bikepackers: dismantling a wet tent😝.

Shortly after Goslar, the sun came out again and illuminated the Drübeck monastery for me just as much as the disguised town hall in Wernigerode😊.

Faster than expected, I landed after

The three mountain peaks between the Weser and the Harz looked worse on the map than they actually were (very even ascents). Unfortunately, in the first part, one often rode on side roads or cycle paths close to the road before I could enjoy the magnificent views towards the Harz on the R1 cycle path

4th stage: Today too, there were only the beautiful sides of climate change for me🌞: plenty of sun, blue sky and the shade of the Teutoburg Forest. Even the consistently light headwind felt like a refreshing blessing at ambient temperatures of 39.7°. The tour through the sunny fields, the small towns

Packing up the tent in blazing sunshine - that can only be a good day🤓🤓.

After that, we went over the high plateau down towards Paderborn. Shortly after the start, I surprisingly encountered the Ruhrradweg. According to the barriers, its last kilometers are currently being asphalted - but surely not

On the 2nd stage, Winterberg awaited me today (emphasis on Berg), because there could be no talk of winter today anyway. I now know every shady resting spot after the 1,000 meters of altitude difference 🌞😝. The route is really beautiful and winds through the Lenntal valley with numerous "ups and downs

Bikepacking '26: I'm "on tour" again🚵‍♂️🏕️😎.

On the 1st stage, it went along the Rhine, Sieg and Agger rivers over the Bergischer Panoramaradweg to Campingplatz Eckmann on the Listersee. The small campsite is a dream: Totally nice atmosphere, wide views, small prices and (hard to believe): Bikepackers

A detour to the hydropower plant is definitely worthwhile, as it is impressive to experience firsthand the immense power contained in

The 6th stage was not a huge scenic highlight, but a rather bizarre "Tyrolean mountain hut" directly in front of a decommissioned nuclear power plant☢️, the "Hundertwasser boat" with which he - no joke - sailed to New Zealand😱 and a magnificent apartment in beautiful Tulln more than made up for it.

"Small but nice": Not just because of the weather, today was a short, but definitely the most beautiful stage of our tour so far. After the end of the weirs, the Danube behind Melk has a real current again and winds very photogenically through the many vineyards. There are many beautiful resting places

The Greiner Blasorchester reminds us early in the morning: today is Corpus Christi😇 - there was a mass on the market square in brilliant sunshine, including a traditional costume show. Then we took the cycle ferry and headed towards Krems. In contrast to the past few days, the course of the Danube and

Up to shortly before Linz, the 2nd Danube stage was a dream. The cycle path runs directly along the river, there is hardly any traffic, but plenty of nice rest stops. At "Café Mitte", 15km before Linz, we had a "Linzer Schnitte" for €6.30 as a foretaste - that could be fun😝😝.

The 1st stage Passau - Vienna is quite unspectacular up to the Jochenstein power plant and runs almost continuously along the B388. From crossing the border into Austria, it gets really beautiful: wide cycle path and hardly any contact with traffic👍👍. Directly at the Jochenstein power plant, you pass
