On our last day on the Swabian Alb, the landscape showed itself again from its most beautiful side: The first stage of the long-distance hiking trail "Albtraufgänger" (actually a huge 113 km long circular route) went from the Deutsches Haus in Weilheim an der Teck to Wiesensteig . In the morning hours, fog and sun fought a wonderful duel - my favorite autumn weather, because it conjures up such a great, mystical lighting atmosphere. My autumn tour tips for the Swabian Alb -> sonne-wolken.de/wandern-albtraufAfter the first ascent to the Boßler, it then went gently up and down along the edge of the Albtraufkante. My highlight: The Reußenstein castle ruins with an amazing view of the valleys and hills of the Neidlinger valley. Then it went into a dark, cave-rich valley, before covering the last few kilometers to the destination in the idyllic Filsur valley. A wonderful hike that definitely makes you want more and is perfect for an autumn hike!

Today we went on the Löwenpfad "Höhenrunde" starting in Bad Ditzenbach through the Upper Filstal with great views along the Albtrauf. My favorites: the Oberbergfels and the Tierstein - both at over 730 meters. There was also perfect autumn hiking weather that couldn't be nicer! My autumn tour tips for the Swabian Alb -> sonne-wolken.de/wandern-albtrauf

The "Tieringer Hörnle" high alp path is a hiking trail for connoisseurs like it is in a picture book: it takes around ten kilometers from the idyllic valley of the Schlicher up to the Alb plateau. Walk along the edge of the eaves, almost at ground level, to the Hörnle at an impressive 956 meters above sea level. You return to the starting point across lush meadows and then through an original forest. My autumn tour tips for the Swabian Alb -> sonne-wolken.de/wandern-albtrauf

Hello from the Swabian Alb! Over the next four days I explore the wonderful hiking region of the Swabian Albtrauf - a 200 km long cliff edge that separates the rough high plateau from the gentle foothills of the Alb.My autumn tour tips for the Swabian Alb -> sonne-wolken.de/wandern-albtraufIt starts with the so-called "Hossinger Ladder" eaves corridor near Albstadt, which not only offers the eponymous, exciting ladder climb up to the rocks, but also wonderful views from the rocky edge of the eaves, an enchanted cave, Celtic ramparts from the Hallstatt period and wild and romantic gorges. And that when the leaves begin to turn color and a mix of sunshine, dramatic clouds and sleet showers - oh, how I love autumn!

Admittedly, the Rhine-Aar Cycle Path is not as flat as on the banks of the Rhine. For 44 km it makes its way uphill and downhill from the Aar to the Rhine via the northwestern Taunus foothills. The reward: many views, a varied landscape and lonely bike paths. How around you drive the route does not really matter, the 700 meters in altitude are manageable in any case - at least if you cover the entire route between Hahnstätten and Sankt Goarshausen. However, those who start a little later in Katzenelnbogen or Rettert not only save themselves the inconvenient journey to the starting point, but also one or two vertical meters. Then the sporty 45 kilometers will turn into a real pleasure tour with (relatively) gentle ups and downs!PS: Melli 🐕‍🦺 was of course there again - sometimes in the basket, sometimes running alongside ...

I had planned this hike for so long - a combination of the dream path Höhlen- und Schluchtensteig with a detour on the Himmelsleiter through the Brohl valley. The Wolfsschlucht is particularly beautiful and if you hike on the other side of the railway line at the beginning, you can even take the Trass caves with you. Unfortunately, I realized that too late. The Pönterbachtal, which you follow for a while, was also beautiful. You can then return to the starting point by bus or the historic Brohltalbahn.By the way: the strangely short tour time is a mistake that is partly due to poor GPS reception ...

I haven't had a tour for a long time - which doesn't mean I haven't done one. But I’m just now absolutely not behind in uploading everything here at Komoot. While I am only gradually uploading the missing tours from Slovenia & Co, there is now the current hike from yesterday on the Stahlbergschleife around Bacharach. The highlights of the tour are clearly the two castles - Stahleck & Stahlberg - and the views of the Rhine on the first and last two kilometers. In between there are mainly forest and meadow paths that are unspectacular, but still beautiful in late summer. And the place Bacharach itself is really pretty with its alleys and half-timbered houses. I would say: a perfect Sunday outing!

Finally, the Viamala region had a real highlight ready for us: the circular hike in the Beverin Nature Park from Mathon (1527m) on the Schamserberg past the Maiensässen to Mursenas and to the Libisee, a mountain lake where you can even swim. With temperatures around 30 degrees, the refreshment after the ascent was sorely needed. The way back was not via the forest road as originally intended, but from Nutschias via a narrow signposted path through the forest, which was not (yet?) Shown on the map. Oh Switzerland, you are so beautiful!

A trip to Viamala without visiting the gorge of the same name? Under no circumstance! Although I found the views along the Veia Traversina to the gorge almost even more beautiful - and above all emptier and more natural than a visit to the official, developed section, which is quite well attended, especially in the summer months. At least as impressive is the suspension rope bridge, which is unique in its kind as a floating staircase.

A weekend of digital detox without a laptop, mobile phone and TV - and that when you earn your bread as a content creator? Not so easy at all, but still particularly beautiful - especially when it takes place in the Swiss mountain village of Feldis. From there a comfortable chair lift leads to Mutta, where the panoramic hike to the Dreibündenstein starts. In addition to wonderful views of the Graubünden mountains, it is above all the peace and quiet far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life that defines Feldis and this hike. The Dreibündenstein itself is just a rather unspectacular grass mountain in a barren wasteland that is overgrown with heather and houses a few boggy lakes.A big recommendation is a stop at the Feldis ski hut, the mushroom risotto is awesome and so is the idyllic location on the river with rustic wooden benches and deck chairs.
