Carleton to dismantled railway line (towards Broughton) & back via Heslaker Lane
Path over farmers fields not always obvious but always a stile to go through to the next field & line of dismantled railway ( a bit over grown in places in July, done at other times previously & not so bad) easy return along Heslaker Lane & through village

Hike Wray Castle to Ash Landing along lakeside path
Boat from Waterhead to Wray Castle (Walkers ticket return). Walk approx 5 miles to Ash Landing where you can get another boat to pier at Bowness where you can take another boat ( red cruise) back to Waterhead. Scenic mainly flat track, plenty of shade from surrounding trees which made…

Hot day so ambled around Ambleside

Hike Coniston to Yewdale & Tarn Hows via Glen Mary Bridge
Good walk, path past Tom Gill waterfalls steep & a bit scrambly. Joeys cafe & loos at Tarn Hows nice for a pit stop half way round the route.
