Canadian War Memorial, New Forest

Highlight • Monument

War memorial for the Canadian forces who trained here before sailing to Normandy for the D'Day landings.

Stunning views across the New Forest - as the area is quite high up the roads are reasonably exposed so it’s always worth checking which way the wind is blowing before heading out.

Blissford Hill

Highlight • Trail

It's a bit of a workout;)

Tip by

4

25.8 km

Blissford Hill is known for its challenging gradient, which reaches a maximum incline of 25%. Known by cyclists as "The Wall", it's a rare section of the New Forest, more commonly known for its flat terrain.

The Royal Oak

Highlight • Pub

good pub, with a nice beer garden to the rear and a little pond across the road.

Took a break at this stream and enjoyed the scenery. You need to cross the stream via a ford which I guess means getting a bit wet when it floods - no problem on the day I cycled over it.

Winding Road Through New Forest National Park

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Beautiful flowing section of road which can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace or with the hammer down.

Lovely views, great tarmac, horses grazing lovely place to ride a bicycle!
