Hiwweltour Heideblick – zwischen Heide und Weinberg am Siefersheimer Horn
Rheinhessen and rudolfhh planned a hike.
March 28, 2019
On the Hiwweltour Heideblick not only endless vineyards await you, but also small heathland areas. These were once the original landscapes of Rheinhessen, but the heath was almost completely pushed back in favor of viticulture and agriculture. Around the Siefersheimer Horn, you can still enjoy small heathland today.Starting point of the Hiwweltour is the trail parking lot "Am Gänsborn" in Siefersheim. In the middle of the vineyard, you hike to the beginning of Siefersheimer Höll, the first heath landscape on your hike. Juniper, heather and small trees make the landscape a real natural gem. On your way, you walk for a while along the heath, which is interrupted only here and there by vineyards.Soon you can see the Ajaxturm towering over the vineyards in front of you. The tower dates from the 19th century, but its architectural style is clearly modeled on medieval castle towers. A little later it goes through the Neu-Bamberger Heide and then on a short detour into the romantic center of Neu-Bamberg.From here you hike on the banks of the Appelbach, until the Hiwweltour sharp right behind the fish pond branches off to the right. Now it goes gently uphill to the Siefersheimer Horn, where the largest heathland awaits you. Via vineyards you finally reach the starting point of the hike.

The starting point marked with A on the map is not the "Am Gänsborn" car park. It is located - at least on GoogleMaps - on the opposite side of Siefersheim and does not lead to this Hiwweltour.
